REST receives students from the TXT (textile) department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, visiting Friesland as part of a departmental excursion structured around questions of local knowledge and material conditions. Drawing on the ongoing practice of the project in Mirns — including material research and the conservation of the farmhouse — REST opens a conversation about research-driven artistic practice, the relationship to landscape and institution, and what it means to choose a place as a site of work.
