Highlights from our two-day workshop in collaboration with Studio Dicky for the local primary school De Meiboom in Warns. We began each session in a circle on the field, getting to know each other and talking about life on a farm and caring for the earth. With the younger children, we started with a nature scavenger hunt to collectdifferent fruits and bites for a picnic. At the compost heap, we discovered a special letter from Willem the Worm, inviting us to learn about composting and the circle of life — how our food scraps feed the worms, the worms enrich the soil, and in turn, help our fruits and vegetables grow! As a thank-you to the worms, the children created small sculptures and creatures using leftovers from the picnic and other natural materials. These little gifts were placed beside the letter, forming a compost world.
